The study and use of oils, whether they be essential oils, full spectrum vegetable phytols, aromatic waters, or flower essences, all belong to the study of plants, ( herbology, phytotherapy, aromatics, and chemistry, biology, botany ). Essential oils are extracted from a wide range of plants and herbs. They are carefully chosen by the Aromatherapist for the specific needs of the individual and blended with 100% pure vegetable oils. Inhaling them affects the olfactory system. They are also absorbed through the skin and circulated by the blood. The benefits of aromatherapy are both subtle and profound. Benefits range from improving relaxation, energizing, detoxification, and enhancing general health. An aromatherapy treatment focuses on the individual as a whole, addressing body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
In ancient times, Shamans, Indigenous, and Native American medicine men all knew the plants contained medicinal properties. In those ancient times, the medicine men were so connected with nature; they knew the plant to take to give them information about the other plants and what they were to be used for. They watched and looked at their signature and purpose and intuitively knew what to do. They honored nature as part of the God force, (as above /so below), that was made available for man. Today, most modern medicine is comprised of these chemicals found from the plants from antibiotics to cancer cures. We are beginning to remember. By going back to ancient knowledge and philosophies, ancient medicine, going back to nature to find what the ancient minds always knew, we will come to verify through science the medicine is and has always been in the plants.
Most oils and plants are relatively safe, because they are aligned with mother nature, however it is still important if we are to use these in medicinally ways we understand the flowers and the plants that the oils are derived from so we know if they may be counterproductive or interfere with any other medication or natural supplements we may be taking. Any long-term use of any herb, plant or oil should be under the care of a physician.
